The Hotel Único Buenos Aires is a five star hotel and residential tower currently under development in the Puerto Madero section of Buenos Aires.
The high-rise, whose construction was scheduled to begin in June 2008, will include the 220-room hotel, as well as condominiums, and will be located on Azucena Villaflor de Vicenti Avenue, in the city's upscale Puerto Madero section.[1]
Its development is taking place on a 6,900 m² (73,000 ft²) lot sold to Rayet, a Madrid-based developer, by Grupo Chateau, the local builders of the Château Puerto Madero Residence, for US$35 million. Originally scheduled to open at the end of 2010, the development was delayed and changed hands again when Rayet sold the lot to Anglo-Argentine developer, David Sutton, the proprietor of the Alvear Palace Hotel, on March 5, 2010.[3] Barring Sutton's decision to develop a different project, the hotel's construction and decoration is expected to cost € 70 million, and will be the second of the five-star Único Finest Hotels (following one in Dubai).[1][4]
